  Just tell them that many of the Witnesses that thought the end was near.in Knorr's day,that is Nathan Knorr, well they are now booking into the the Jah Jirah old folks home run by Witnesses and if they want more information log onto their website.Stand back in case of stampede.

  how is the WT a "literature selling scam"?

  i have heard several people refer to the society as publishing company in the business.

  of selling books and magazines.. i just don't see how this view can be valid considering that i almost never see.

  any "voluntary contributions" come in from the door-to-door work.

  Hi,

  The whole rotten edifice has been built up on sales of Watchtower publications.We were told to push for magazine subscriptions in the early sixties. We were told not to give the product away because the buyer would appreciate them more if there was a monetary value to the books etc.Of course we were not selling we were placing which is the same objective.

  Exciting announcements at service meeting

  we've already had a post on this, but there were other interesting comments.. the brother giving the announcements said that there would be a new understanding of jesus' reference to the generation as discussed at the annual meeting.. an elder giving a service meeting part review of different watchtower articles from the current year brought out the new light concerning 1935.. he asks: "when is the sealing of the anounted ones?".

  elder answers: "there is no specific date".

  later after the meeting, i asked an elder if the new understanding of the remnant now meant that younger people could go to heaven.. he answered with an affirmative "yes" and that we would be getting the new understanding of the generation jesus spoke of in a future 2008 watchtower.. .

  This is what you get from a do it yourself relgion .They make it up as they go along.With the boardroom boys calling all the shots how can you take them seriously.

  It's all a complete waste of time .What benefit to mankind are they?, answer none whatsoever .They might as well go and platt sawdust.

  After all these years Danny must be feeling suppressed and seeing what he did in the video is a picture of that suppression becoming a flame.

  Unfortunately he let the wrong guys have it. The morons at the top who run the excuse for christianity should have been in the firing line and a bucket of cold water would have been more suitable .Danny, in future please chose your weapons carefully remember the pen is mightier than the sword and remember don't take the law into your own hands.You can in law stop them from calling on you.

  There is a way to stop the Whacktower and that is by letting the the world know of their stupid practices.

  All this talk about action by the Borg. reminds of that scene in the film The Battle of Britain when Trevor Howard slowly walks around the quiet radar opperations room where everyone is anticipating, watching and waiting for an enemy attack, waiting for the phones to ring ,when he looks up and says "well they're up to something."

  Then all hell breaks loose. Bandits at three o'clock better scramble.

  Questions For Those That Entered the Armed Forces After Practicing JWism

  with having so many close to me serve in the armed forces, it only helps me appreciate even more those that serve in them.

  i've had 7 uncles and a grandfather serve in the u.s. army, another grandfather in the u.s. navy, my late brother-in-law served for 6 years in the air force right on up to his death earlier this year, and my father also served in the air force in his pre-jw days.. even while being a very devout jw, i still had the utmost respect and appreciation for those serving.

  from what i understand after chatting with many of you is that some among us on jwd have entered the military after leaving the religion.

  An email from my Dad on Bible Chronology - Armegeddon's arrival

  i cannot provide any background info on my dad except to say that he is not an attender anymore, but is not apostate.. years ago, my dad showed me why he thought 1975 was wrong, and he gave me a date like 2011, 2012...back in 2004.. it actually made sense to me back then, and obve's posts reminded me of my dad's calculations..... only my dad's calculations were not based on addition or multiplying of random crazy numbers, .

  but actually were logical assumptions based on the scriptures as he understood them.. here is his email to me...it might be lengthy, but it is easy to follow and understand.

  Hi Eclipse,

  From what I can gather from what your Dad is saying he has correct understanding of the fact that Jesus would not have used the name Jehovah .

  I agree also that Gods' manifestation is found in his creation and that everything apart from that is mankinds' supposition on what God is like which obviously puts human qualities on to the Almighty which may not there in the first place. It seems that the only place to look for God is in nature.

  Can you not get your Dad to post on JWD or would that be a step too far?

  some time ago i wrote to you about the dangers of jehovah's witnesses and how they don't deserve charity status because far from helping mankind they are a real danger to it.

  Hi,

  This topic has always bugged me.Why should the Borg get away without paying taxes,? Their only plea for clemency would be the fact that according to themselves they are spreading their brand of christianity which we know to be questionable to say the least.

  According to the Charity Commissions principles a charity must operate for the benefit of those in need of the stated purpose of the charity in question and not for the benefit of the organisors of the charity.We know that the top managers of the Borg live a very comfortable life syle which is funded by their so called charity status of that there is no doubt.

  Now it seems to me that it would be very difficult to persuade the Commission that the Watchtower Orgs.' main aim is not the spreading of christianity and therein lies the problem.It depends on how they define it. If challenged It would take years of going through the courts to come up with a ruling.

  We know that Watchtower doctrine is harmful and full of error and that they literally get away with murder with blood guilt on their hands.

  I suppose if enough of us question the Commission about it at least they might sit up and take notice.
